I spent all day outside here in north central Kansas and didn't see a lick of smoke. I wonder how accurate that map is.

Anyhow...that looks really bad. Reminds me of the fires they have up in Washington.

It looks like the gates of hell. That is terrible. Man, hope at least everyone gets out who needs to get out...and that all the firefighters stay safe.

One of my favorite parts of the country...it's sad

I've also got close family members living in south Denver that I hope stay safe

It's pretty dissipated by the time it gets a couple hundred miles away. You can most easily tell around sunset, when you see this vague haze that diffuses the sunlight.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 28 - A wildfire that forced the evacuation of 35,000 people from the edge of Colorado's second-largest city has killed at least one person and incinerated 346 homes, making it the most destructive blaze in state history, officials said on Thursday.LINK
The Colo Spring fire in Waldo Canyon seems to be one of the worst for property damage--346 homes burned. There are 40 fires burning right now throughout the western U.S.
