It's mmm'kay, as far as trophies go. Better than the Land Grant Trophy, that's for sure.

Although I guess that's kind of like saying "they're a better band than Nickleback," or, "he's a better humanitarian than Hitler."

 
I actually think it's pretty cool. I wasn't liking the name of the game but it's starting to grow on me because of the meaning.

BTW, if the Misery faithful is wondering where the Bell is just wanted to let them know NU will be hanging on to that FOREVER! chuckleshuffle

If anyone goes to see it at the Osborne Complex today, try to get a close-up picture of that design around the bottom. It almost looks like a cornfield.

Never mind. It IS a cornfield.

  • the front prominently displays the Heroes Game logo in brushed aluminum
  • the back is labeled at its top "TRADITION" and includes brushed aluminum art that prominently displays images of Memorial Stadium and Kinnick Stadium, and some of the traditions of the two institutions and their football programs
  • the left side is labeled at its top "VALOR" and carries the badges that will be dated and carry the names of the two "Citizen Heroes"
  • the right side is labeled at its top "VICTORY" and carries the badges that will be dated and carry the final score of each Heroes Game

A dark gray acrylic etched with a corn stalk pattern adorns all four sides of the base of the trophy. The trophy itself stands 30-inches tall when measured from the base to the highest point of the molded aluminum football that has been given a brushed stainless steel look and features the officially registered trademarks of the University of Iowa (the Tigerhawk) and the University of Nebraska (the block "N") in addition to the aforementioned laurel leaves.

agreed....beating Iowa is really nothing more than a 'W' and doesn't really warrant a trophy...Kinda like beating Colorado. Nebraska's last REAL rivalry was destroyed by the BigXII(-3) when they stopped our every year game with Oklahoma.

That's the student trophy exchanged between the Innocents Society from UNL and some other group from Iowa.

The Heroes Game Trophy is the official, university-sponsored trophy
