DUDE!!! I do the exact same thing! I love how they say, "The person sitting in the emergency exit aisle will need to assist passengers from exiting the aircraft." Oh, I'll assist them alright, "Hey m-fers follow me!"Landing in the water can be very safe as long as the pilot does what he's supposed to do. If the wing tips don't dip, every thing should be fine. But I guarantee you this, every single one of those passengers will, from now on, read their emergency procedure cards and listen to the flight attendants from now on.
Our squadron took a class out at the FAA center here in OKC and it was very eye opening. The class was geared more towards the civilian flying sector but the information learned was/is invaluable. Everytime I fly commercially, the first thing I do when getting to my seat is locate the 2 nearest emer exits and count how many rows of seats there are between me and the exit. I also take a look around at everybody around me and determine who I'm gonna have to punch in the face cuz they're gonna be an idiot in an emergency. No lie. People do stupid stuff in an emergency such as, try to collect their personal belongings before exiting the aircraft.
