Play Calling

IMHO there were probably some negotiation with Watson and Bo on having Watson call the plays, especially after Watson had at least one offer to go someplace else to coach. I am betting that Watson will call the offense and Bo will pretty much oversee the defense as a whole, but let his assistants call the plays for the linemen and the backs. Just a hunch.

Bo needs to be a Head Coach...not a DC and HC. Let Carl call the defensive plays, let Watson call the offensive plays and let Bo interject when needed.

Given the major reason for Bo's hire was to rejuvenate the defense, I think he almost has to call the defensive plays...

I thought one of the linebackers usually called the defensive play depending on the formation and situation (Down/distance)...

Specially with more emphasis on no-huddle offenses.

I'd imagine in this case, Bo would act more as a sounding board to both the OC and DC..Throwing ideas around and trying to cover each other's mouth (Lip readers).

Watson will call the plays. That is a good thing, he is damn good.

He is so good that I can see him leaving in a few years to become a head coach somewhere. I like Watson darn good coach.

bo will call the plays and eventually transition over to carl.

I'm guessing that if Watson does become a HC somewhere in the future Barney will be the next OC and call the plays. Watson will call the plays in 2008.
