1. Defense - Greene, Grixby, Shanle, Ruud, Mckeon, Bradley, Moore, Carriker, Cryer - all Solich guys.

Defense 07 - Asante(upgrade), Bowman(upgrade), Murillo(upgrade), Dillard(upgrade), hopefully Octo(upgrade), Turner(equal to Moore IMO) Suh(upgrade over cryer), Thenarse over Green maybe hopefully(would be an upgrade) - All Callahan guys

2. Offense - Taylor while a saint for our program, average at best, was what we had and needed for transition to WCO. the line all young and improving, Purify(a stud that will get better), Petersen and swift just ok, the RB very good and will be better next year.

Offense 07 - Keller/Lee (definite upgrades), Henry(will be a stud)Holt,Paul,Brooks(all upgrades over swift,petersen,and nunn), The line will be better and add Burkes and Three stud RS Frosh look out - the point on offense is these are now all Callahan players.

As Husker fans we all expect the best, however, it takes time to get what you need. We got Swift and Nunn and Taylor and others on short notice. They helped us get to where we are at today. over the last 2 years Cally and Co. have really hit the recruiting trail and we are now loaded with talent. REMEMBER 3 YEARS AGO WE LACKED TALENT NOW WE ARE LOADED.

Coaches can only do as much as their talent allows. Coaches also recruit and if YOU THINK RUNNING OFF AND FINDING ANOTHER COACH IS THE ANSWER, you are mistaken. Cally is puttin together a team that is loaded with talent. You cannot, as a coach, rebuild in 3 short years.

If next year we go 9-5, i may then start to change my tune but until it is proven that Cally cannot win with real talent you naysayers should just shut your trap. What Cally has done in the 3 years he has been here is truly awesome. WE COULD STILL HAVE SOLICH FOR GODS SAKE.

Anyone that says fire Callahan is crazy and knows NADA about the game........BUT, I do think he needs an offensive coordinator ala...Pete Carrol/Norm Chow.......bring in someone who can add to the brain trust, the recruiting job is pretty amazing when you think of logistics, but I do think an offensive coordinator would be nice.

USC - if we try to go toe to toe with them we get murdered, he did what was needed. In fact i think Cally and his play calling are what kept us in the game.

I may be doing the "what if" thing , but the pass that Nunn fumbled on was what I was refering to. I wish he had kept it on the ground.If we didnt get the first , with the punt , atleast we would have made them have to drive the length of the field to win the game.

Texas is a good team. lost due to qb injury and MAC BROWN. otherwise talent wise they are a really good team. Auburn realized all that they had to do to beat us was put 8 or 9 in the box every play and try to make taylor beat them, which once again(the last 2 games) he proved he couldnt do. I think if husker fans think we are like oregon state or florida st. that they are not true bleed red husker fans. I think the misconception here is that we have been on the down and out since solich and people look for improvement which by the win column has gotten better every year. i think everyones opinion on the HUSKER FOOTBALL PROGRAM will be significantly better next year at this time when we just get done beating whomever in the fiesta bowl.

I didn't see anyone who wants Callahan's head ask for Solich to return. I too think it's still premature to fire Callahan, but the question remains, Can he Coach? Stud Purify had 1 reception on Monday. How about the malaise we saw all season in games when Billy ran out of scripted plays?

You're basically blaming the players from a previous system and that's what Billy did in Oakland when he called his Raiders "stupid". As long as Callahan or anyone is coaching, we're not going anywhere because we love the Huskers and we have a right to question what's going on instead of going on blind faith.

I hope people take a good look at next yrs. schedule. Texas, USC, Wake Forest, Missouri, Ok. State are not guaranteed victories by any means.

I will never stop believing or give up on the Huskers ( i've had this affliction my entire life along with my whole family) but this season was a disappointment. I hope you're right about next season. I almost took an employees head off yesterday for making a comment about the Huskers. I dont think normal CFB fans react to things like us Husker fans do.

First, we all want to defend our huskers but we need to see the truth for what it is........

Our Second Half problems were not due to lack of scripted plays. They were due to the opposing coaches saying hey, you are not gonna run on us anymore. Taylor is going to have to beat us. Teams put 8 and 9 people in the box in the second halves against us and Taylor simply could not get it done.

Purify is the only legitimate receiver we had playing. teams would play cover 2 but roll the safety over and bracket (double team) purify. leaving swift, nunn, and petersen one on one. they did this because they knew that their DB's were simply better than those receivers. you cant throw the ball with regularity to a receiver that is double covered

With the parody in college football these days it is very difficult to bring a program out of the dark and back to dominance. even look at usc who has outstanding recruiting classes. they have been up there but have only won 1 national title in recent years. is anyone calling for pete carrols head when he is expected to compete for a national title every year... no. he is a great cfb coach but i dont think again with the parody that you can b*tch at callahan for not returning us to dominance yet
