Poll: Do you like our team's current situation?

Would you prefer the scenario in which

  • our team beat TT and ISU and our offense was playing like a top 25 offense, but we lose to OU?

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • our current situation with a win against OU?

I doubt beating ISU or TT would not have given us 3 commits. Likewise, this was a game we were not suppose to win against a quality opponent.

I haven't felt this good since....dang its been a while.

Beating OU is a signature win and shows we've improved since the last few losses. When was the last time we beat OU? 2001? Give me that over ISU any day.

Of course the way the poll is set up, if we lost to ISU and TT, which we did, and had a top 25 offense, we still would have beaten OU considering we DID beat OU with far worse than a top 25 offense. Therefore option 1 makes the most sense since you beat OU anyway and all but secure the rest of the north.

Way to twist the two choices ;)

I do like option 1 the best but I intentionally set the poll up so that we could have one or the other, either two wins against lesser teams or one against a bigger team.

I didn't like losing to T Tech and even less to Iowa State, but I REALLY like the position we are in now.

Look at what is in front of NU, not what is behind. We are 6-3. We have a shot at our first 9-win regular season since...well, 2003. We have a shot at representing the North at the Big 12 title game...and yes, we control our own destiny in that area now whereas with a loss to OU we would have needed help. Our defense is playing outstanding. Helu appears healthy. And, it's just me, and yes, I am high on the big W, but I just feel like this offense is going to break out soon. Maybe it was the running by Helu. Maybe its the thought of getting Rex back for CU. And, finally, I feel good about going down to Arlington and getting a shot in on those Longhorns. They won't take us seriously. And we might have the best defense in this league. If we could run the ball and play some awesome D, I give us a chance. I just don't believe Texas is all that much better than OU.

COME on HUSKERS...... TIME TO ROLL........

:hellloooo :horns2 :koolaid2: :box :bonez :cheers :nanalama :clap :corndance :restore

The problem with our actual situation (no offense) is that we are playing with 0 margin of error for our defense. We need to win against KSU and one more game, to win the North. We will be taken deep into both of the KU and CU games and we probably need Helu to rush for 200 to have a chance against KSU. I might feel differently if our D caused a couple fumbles a game, but typically they don't. And, before you get all puffed out in the chest over last night's D, they will probably not repeat that level of performance for the rest of the year. Maybe the KSU game.
'No offense.' That perfectly sums it up. :cowbell: :cowbell: :cowbell: that's all you had to say. chuckleshuffle chuckleshuffle chuckleshuffle

I'm leaning toward our win against OU..Even though it's a down year for them.

One more win wont make much difference this year in the grand scheme of things..And our win over OU was a little flukey..I know..I know..WE FORCED the turnovers, but a couple of those, O'Hanlon appeared to be in a lucky spot..But the whole Defense seemed to play over their heads.

The MNC is still out of reach...We can only hope to have another stellar game and beat the shorthorns in the conference championship game..to keep them from embarrassing the B-12 in the MNC game.

Another thing about the two for one win thing...If we don't beat KU/KSU/CU..I'd rather not "back in" to the conference title game just to say we were there.

Beating OU probably helps our recruiting more than beating ISU/TT...and..We still have some games to make up on the Siiners.
