Portal QBs

People keep connecting Indiana with a Portal QB- they have Fernando Mendoza's brother on the team currently. They'll certainly run into a Raiola type issue if they bring another QB in to ruin the "heir apparent".

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Nebraska is in the position to land Barrett from James Madison or Colandrea who would you take? The Sun Belt player of the year or the Mountain West player of the year?? Barrett only had 58% percent of his passes completely while Colandrea had 65% percent. Tough decision.

I think Lateef could be pretty good with a better line and another offseason of coaching. Do we really think a portal QB is the answer? I know it's not as sexy as a shiny new QB and the "hope" that follows, but we need some good lines.

We're losing three scholarship QBs after this year. Even if you like Lateef, he's our only remaining scholly QB on the roster. We need at least two more guys, so why not swing for the fences?

I could go either way. Though to answer your question in the negative, spend big on the lines, get a couple of serviceable QBs to compete/backup Lateef, then see what they have in Young (assuminghe signs) and what might be in the following year's portal.

I see so many people calling for lots of money for awesome linemen. I'm not against that but I really don't think that's realistic because there just aren't very many proven good ones available. Hope I'm wrong.
