only if you bring some ranch.I have a few baby carrots….. interested?!?!?
But to get on topic, I never once said getting A kicker from a FCS school is a bad thing. However I do not see how someone cant find it comical that we literally took both of an FCS teams kickers. Like out of all the FCS kickers we get two from the same school. That is funny to me. I am confident the one going on scholarship should be an improvement on our roster. Still funny we were like hell yeah we want both of em. Starter and the backup damnit! haNow we’re talking![]()
Without question, the mental part of the game is the biggest deficiency right now. You are correct on that point. There are gaps to fill, but hypothetically if we got zero new players from the portal from what we already have committed, I'd still feel that this roster should win 7-8 games next year. The issue the last couple years has been more mental than physical.

Speaking of great mentality and approach to the game, let me say that I watched the Nebraska vs. Texas women's volleyball match over the weekend. Coach Cook and the team went into the lion's den in Austin and really demonstrated grit and resilience. Watching how Coach Cook controlled the action not only through timeouts, but also through challenges was a great example of the mental part of the game on display. Each time Texas was prepared to go on a run, Coach stepped in to slow the tidal wave and get his team re-trenched. Congrats to the ladies on a Final Four appearance!
Let's just face it, we do not have that level of coaching talent in the football program right now...
Cook went 34-0 and won a national championship his first year at NU....Wouldn't that be nice to replicate in football hahaWithout question, the mental part of the game is the biggest deficiency right now. You are correct on that point.

We only have a specialist problem on this team so you should keep that initial smile of yours fella
Missing the point. No expectation of any championships, league or otherwise, in the near or perhaps distant future. Progress is the name of the game here...I agree, Frost is not at this time on the same level as one of the best coaches that has ever led any sport team in John Cook. And yet, people will talk out both sides of their mouth by
1) insisting that if our football coach is not a championship level coach RIGHT NOW we should can him and move on
2) also insisting that no high level coach or player would ever logically come to a place like Nebraska
I'm reminded why I didn't look at this message board for a couple years LOL
As far as #2 goes, I believe that elite kids will come to Nebraska… if they have a reason. The problem is, right now there’s no reason for them to come here.I agree, Frost is not at this time on the same level as one of the best coaches that has ever led any sport team in John Cook. To be fair, I believe Frost tried that once, calling timeouts to slow down the momentum of the other team. Problem is, Nebraska was out of timeouts 34 seconds after the opening kickoff  Of course it didn’t help that two of them were taken prior to the first snap of the game.Without question, the mental part of the game is the biggest deficiency right now.
