D. Benning: How bout THAT one in the rafters? Our guy take good care of ya? (Semm watched the game from a Luxury Box)

A. Semm: He took good care of us (he always does, we know that). It was quite a time down there Saturday night. and in the interest of full disclosure, ... After what was the most poorly conceived onside kick I've ever seen, ... I said, "Well, that's pretty much it." And figured we'd probably start to walk out. and the Little fella said "no. We're staying till the end"

DB: OH, Gavin ruling the roost, huh?

AS: Oh yeah. He said "no. we're staying." And so we stayed, and good thing we did, or we mighta been one of those poor fools (like the people in front of me) that missed one of the most improbable and exciting moments that I can recall seeing.

G Sharpe: The thing that probably won't get enough talk today is ... after the onside kick, and MSU recovers, is that 3rd down and 8 play where you have that penalty. And the play clock... you've got, what? and extra 15-20 seconds because of that?

AS: Yeah, after a penalty they start it at 25 instead of 40, so yeah, that certainly helped.

AND as long as we're talking that last series, .... the much-maligned Mike linebacker put his face right ON the breastplate of the ball-carrier!

DB: He was bringin some DRAMA Saturday night, man. Bando was bringin the WOOD!

AS: Yeah. Those are the sorts of plays that, ... if those plays don't get made, Michigan State's takin a knee. But that's why you play the whole play.

... and for the last couple of weeks, I think we've been justified in questioning the effort, at times, from the guys wearing the red and the white, but it'd be not possible to question effort this week. It was solid from start to finish.

DB: You can appreciate this as a former coach, (we used to see Lavonte David do it all the time) Nebraska had a handful of plays... where a tackle in the open field was made to keep a guy from gaining further yardage, that I think that, ultimately, was the difference in the drive.

How do you think Nebraska manages to stay crisp tackling, (given the time of year, and probably how practices are going)? Tackling all of a sudden made a resurgence after a week ago.

AS: That's a tough question to answer. If I knew the answer to it, I probably wouldn't be talking on the radio for 20 minutes a week. I'd be doing something a little more productive.

You're spot-on. There were a couple of times that the play is well defended, but it comes down to a one-on-one situation. I can think of a time or two that Rose-Ivey make one-on-one stops at or near the line of scrimmage that were big.
