Post-Practice Presser - August 22

Whoever asked Verduzco the question about whether he had ever had a QB competition this close: That was a great question and received a great answer/story from Verduzco. Loved his explanation of how you handle that and that it was his 2nd string QB who took them through the end of the season and into the playoffs where they beat Tony Romo's team 49-46.

Is everyone okay with running back by committee now? There was a lot of fierce opposition to the concept in the past.  Not so much anymore, it seems.
It depends on who is in the committee. I liked the Dan and Buck rotation in the late 90s because both were good. If you have a great back and a couple sub-par backs I don't like the rotation.

a situational scrimmage for the QB's on Thursday?  i would feel better if this wasn't necessary.......no matter who starts, there are going to be growing pains.

Pushing both players to give everything they've got is a win/win for the team and for both guys.

This staff knows exactly what it's doing. Verduzco is probably my favorite to listen to.

I remember Bo said no one could ever talk to the media if they have not played in a game. (McQuitty hasn't played yet)  Good to see Coach Frost letting his players be players.  Don't protect them, let them project themselves.  I like it.

I am sure Jones will get some PT, but you shouldn't think of him as part of the I-back rotation.  Jones is playing the Duck-R position, and will rotate with Lindsey and Spielman.  So, Jones' PT really depends on how much the Duck-R is utilized in formations.

Thought we were calling it the Husk-R position?
