Post Practice Presser - August 5

Still, it seems like the transition on D is going reasonably well, though it sounds like the OLBs aren't where they need to be yet.

Sounds very positive to me. I'd be very concerned if the defense were being carved up by the offense at this point in time. We need a defense who can stop teams and our offense, so much as we know of it to this point in time, will present a lot of the kinds of challenges that most of our opponents will throw at us, shoud get the D ready for the upcoming season.

Some give and take, ups and downs on both sides, is usually a good thing imo. As well as the offense played in the spring game, it is good to see the defense getting a better handle on it now. It is true the defense usually has a head start early in camp but this is a little different with the new schemes etc.

Spring and fall practices are tough to get a read on. If one side is doing noticeably better, is that because they are doing really well or the other side is not doing that well?

Defenses are usually ahead of offense early. The caveat here is that the offense has a bunch of guys that have all been running Langs offense for at least a year or two. The defense has had about 20 practices under Diaco.

So who knows.

I agree, who know what to make of it. I guess we could say that if the QB is so completely different than the last one it is like starting over? I don't think we can read too much into this right now.
