Predict the 2013 season

KJ.

Special Teams Player
Right now.

If you're smart, you'll probably be feeling emotions including:

  • We played arguably the 2nd best team in the country pretty well
  • Our offense is good and we don't lose many people
  • Our offense better be good because our defense sure isn't going to be pitching a shutout anytime soon
  • We're loaded with potential, but potential means nothing if you can't unleash it -- which we really haven't since 2009
  • We play a relatively soft schedule

If you're a cletus, you'll probably be mad that Nebraska didn't win by 99 and say we won't win a game. But then again, you'll remember you're a cletus and predict a national championship victory.

That said, I'll say 9-3 with a frustrating loss to an SEC team in a bowl. What do you think?

I'll say it right now: 11-1

I won't say at this point in time who I think we will lose to, but the schedule next year is much easier and I think the team will improve, coaching staff included.

GBR!!!

Going game by game:

Wyoming--W

Southern Miss--W

UCLA--W

SDSU--W

Illinois--W

@ Purdue--W

@ Minnesota--W

Northwestern--W/L

@ Michigan--W/L

Michigan State--W

@ Penn State--W

Iowa--W

Right now, I'd say the Northwestern game is a 50/50 game in our favor and the Michigan game is a 50/50 game in favor of the Wolverines. That being said, we are going to be winning or in every one of our games next year and should be in the hunt. It could very well be that an undefeated Nebraska faces an undefeated Ohio State in the B1G, to go to the MNC

We'll either be 10-2 or 11-1 after the regular season. People might not be able to see it right now, but this team has grown, and limited or gotten rid of some (not all) of the maddening Bo Pelini tendencies during the regular season.

Based on schedule alone, they should be 12-1 or 11-2 in the regular season. UCLA will be avenged. No Wisconsin or Ohio State.

I could see Nebraska being 8-0 and ranked in the top five going to Ann Arbor. If they can learn to not turn the ball over and find a little bit of talent on both lines, there's no reason why they won't be.

The question is, when they play a significant game, can they keep the opponent under 45 points?

I'd tend to agree with that except for UCLA. I think they may beat us again depending on how they recruit and if they lose anybody early. I don't know a lot about their underclassmen but they have had a great season.

Wyoming--W

Southern Miss--W

UCLA--W

SDSU--W

Illinois--W

@ Purdue--W

@ Minnesota--W

Northwestern--W

@ Michigan--L (I think this is one we lose)

Michigan State--W

@ Penn State--W

Iowa--W

BIG Champ vs. OSU- W

4 losses like always. probably lose to Michigan, Penn State, whoever we play in the Championship (if we make it) and the bowel game. You can call me a downer if you want but until Pelini proves that he can do any better I'm not going to bank on it.
