Predict the season outcome based on what we've seen thus far

Seen this movie before. Like last year when all the "realists" said we were going to go 7-5 after the Ohio State game or Georgia was going to hang 70 and 800 yards of offense on us. Yet that didn't happen, the team actually exceeded the "realists" expectations and they all still bi*ched.
We needed game winning td drives vs. Northwestern, Mich State, D-Rob injury against Michigan and a bad TD call in our favor to beat PSU. We got lucky, LUCKY last year. The B1G title game was no fluke neither was the loss to Ohio State and Georgia which was worse than the score indicates the UCLA game last year was also worse than the score indicated and now here we are 3-1, almost lost to Wyoming, beat a USM squad winless in their last 16 games, got blown out by UCLA, were down 17-14 TO AN FCS SCHOOL @ Home and gave up too many rushing yards to their RB. I want the team to win as much as anyone but the writing is on the wall here. We're A LOT worse off than we were this same time last year.
I would rather be lucky then good.

We lose to Illinois. Then we lose all four road games this year. We lose that "us against the world" mentality when we go in the road. We only feel that way about the fans at home.

As fans of NU, we turn on the players and coaches so quick. One bad play/bad drive and all of a sudden we're calling for Pelini's head. We're down to SDSU 17-14 at the end of the first quarter, but the rest of the game we outscore them 45-3 and it still was a terrible game. Against SDSU it was the epitome of bend but don't break. But then NDSU holds SDSU to negative yards rushing and suddenly we're worse than NDSU? It wasn't a good game by the defense, but we held them in the most important defensive stat.

Simmer down naw. Even Bo said the team played poorly against SDSU. I love my huskers but odds are NDSU would give Nebraska one hell of a fight, its not anyones fault that its like that, that is just how the game has evolved. There will be plenty of FCS v. FBS upsets in the years to come.

I predict some sadness and joy. But mostly pain as we watch the execution. Let's hope we can win 9 games or more, but 8 is likely the threshold (including playing a weak bowl team) from what i have witnessed. We can not take any team for granted here on out.

Am I the only one that thinks we can win out (regular season)? The rest of the B1G teams on our schedule have been less than impressive.... If the offense continues to "click", and the defense can improve over the season, I don't see why we couldn't win every game on our schedule....

Given the youth on defense, they should make greater leaps of improvement throughout the year, as compared to last year's defense...

So we are lucky but yet if our opponent knocks out our QB or makes a comeback we are outcoached right? Martinez goes down in 2010 and it's the coaches fault that Cody Green wasn't more ready for the game. OU and UCLA have made comebacks both when our starting QB was hurt but it's because we were outcoached and out classed. Seriously if you "realists" would stop and look at the reality of your arguments maybe you'd realize how much they contradict each other.

It's not outlandish to think that with some seasoning, experience and luck that we could still get to 10 wins. However, if the proverbial "LIGHT" doesn't come on for them after this two weeks off, it's also not out of the realm of thought that we could spiral and tank. That is what is going to make this next two months SO very interesting. I'm looking forward to it!

I would agree. Our DL was a train wreck last season, then Stein's injury totally derailed it. And we were not as athletic as we needed to be at LB.
