Preview of december?

My prediction is A) this is a preview to the upcoming Big 12 Championship game. The lose of tomorrow's game wins the Big 12 Championship game. B) Michigan beats Ohio St and plays a 1 loss team for the National Championship. And I'm guessing that team will be the Auburn Tigers. USC will lose, West Virginia will probalby lose to a very good Pitt where Palko is on fire). And Louisville will get no love from the poll voters because of their weak schedule.
All of that sounds good except your big 12 predictions. Im hoping there is no split and that Texas wins both games! :)

my only concern is a loss to Texas, and then a let down against Mizzou, or Texas A&M

if we win tomorrow, we'r in the ship for sure, but if we dont, we might have to make sure one loss doesn't lead to another

L-Royalty,

I'm sure you guys want to win both games. Doing so makes it a little bit easier for you guys to squeeze back into the National Championship picture. It would be a long shot but it would put you guys closer.

I don't know if I would say that Nebraska is a lock for the championship game. A loss tomorrow would put us tied with Missou in the North. Plus, a win tomorrow but a loss to Missou would give them the nod to go to the championship. As far as Texas is concerned, they have the easiest road to the championship game due to the fact that they could probally lose twice and still get there. As of right now, it looks like we both could meet again, but there is a lot of football to be played yet, and I don't think anything is a lock just yet.

1) I think that Texas and Nebraska are PROBABLE for the championship...but by no means a lock. Texas has a stronger hold on the South than Nebraska in the North. Mizzou or A&M could easily pose a problem for NU. Plus - and I don't care how many people want to razz me for it....Colorado, if they win only 1 game in a year, they want to beat NU. Huskers will have to be ready to play each and every week. Wake up, we aren't so superior to be guaranteed anything.

2) I don't believe there is one team in the country that is head and shoulders above the rest. It's a good thing. All the changes and work done by the NCAA to the D-1 scholarship and recruiting programs has done what it is supposed to...make an even playing field. This is what we (at least I believe what all true football fans) have wanted. I'd rather see 10-20 teams that could match up well week to week than wait for three or four undefeated teams to prove something at the end of the year. Makes for better season-long football.

3) I'm a Husker alum and fan for life and I live in Iowa. But I don't get the 'hatred' for the Big 10. It's one of if not the top conference in the country top to bottom week to week. Talk about smash-mouth football. Again, wake up. We play Michigan or Ohio State this year...and we'd get waxed. And don't even bring up the Alamo Bowl. That team last year 1- felt slighted and did not want to be there (coaches and players) and 2- had a 50% Mike Hart in the backfield.

I just get so tired of hearing Nebraska fans thinking we are entitled to anything and that we are the ever-lasting, overpowering, eternal ruling beast of college football.

The big ten is way overated and a media darling conference. So they have one strong year this year. Where were they the last 5 years. Tosu lost 4 in 04 and michigan lost 4 last year (going off memory so please correct me if I am wrong). I dont think Texas has lost 4 since 1999. The big 11 is nothing but media hype most years and I cant stand them.....not to mention ohio state fans are a$$hole$ beyond belief.

The Big 10 is the hyped media darling? Huh, I could have sworn that ESPN, NBC, CBS along with personalities like Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd, Whichever Gumble that is among others have endless praise for the ACC and SEC. Throw in Keith Jackson and his Pac-10 love and NBC's bending over backwards for Notre Dame....and I think there are several other 'divas' in college football.

The Yankees and Red Sox of college football.... :hmmm

The big 10 is really the Big2. Other than Mich and OSU, no one else is really good year in and year out. Iowa is one of the most over rated teams year in and out, especially for one who never actually wins anything. Wisconsin is a solid program, but one that really doesnt have much chance of winning a national chapmionship. penn state has had as many down years as up years latly. Sure one of the other teams bites occasionally and wins the conference, but without a round-robin or divisional championship game, the years teams not Mich or OSU win, that team usually avoided one or both of them.

That can sort of be said about the Big 12 though too, except that we have three teams, OU, TU, NU. We have the occasional other team that makes some noise here and there but nothing consistant from another team. Plus, NU has been down the past few years, and OU might be headed down that road too.

Exactly! Ohio State = Texas, Michigan = Oklahoma, Iowa = Nebraska..... What I said earlier that Big 10 is BETTER TOP TO BOTTOM I would take a Minnesota, Penn State, or Wisconsin over a KState, Tex A&M or a Texas Tech.

By saying Big 10 is overrated....you are saying the same thing about the Big 12.

I think we will play them again. The only game UT has left is A&M, but it's at UT and UT is the better team so they should win out after this game. A&M will be tough for us, but I think we will win it, and I also think we'll beat Mizzou. I do worry about sCUm though. Not really.
