I think playing during some series that are important but not critical like they used Hule today and Castille are good examples. Then if we are in a blowout game either way they can play more during those times. They just can't play in a 'few games' and special teams. I guarantee we have someone who can do that. It's not burning if you get valuable experience. Beck was an example of 'burning' since it's easy to remember.
OK.
In my opinion, Beck's situation was a bit different. Apparently he was the 2nd best QB on the team. The #1 QB goes down, you have to put your best foot forward. Which apparently was Beck. If you don't, you aren't giving your team the best chance to win by intentionally not playing the best players.
I totally agree with that, what I don't understand is not playing him some throughout the year once your hand was forced into using him. If Leak could come off the field and Tebow played a little last year than BC could have found time for Beck once he was eligible.
He did, there was one more game that season, Colorado, and Beck played in it. He went 0 for 4, by the way.
Alright, if you want to get technical, there was also Michigan, but as you'll remember there was a fine reason for not playing Beck in the Michigan game.
