Umm, it’s a lot more like the first forward pass.  One coach found a quick way to advance the ball down the field that wasn’t mentioned in the rule books, but technically legal.  Opponents threw fits about it, but quickly realized they can do it too.  Now we have specific rules regarding the forward pass.

This isn’t a philosophical argument about the value of human life as is the death penalty debate.  Deciding the basic qualifications to be eligible to run for office isn’t quite the moral dilemma that has stumped the world’s thinkers for the past 5,000 years…

No one is stumped about who should die or not.  If you rape  a little girl and kill her, you should die.  there is no philosophical argument about that unless you are a jacka$$, which you are not.   But that is not really the discussion, I apologize.  

When FDR s#!t on precedent we got our two term stuff.  If there is some wiggle room, I also hope that the D's use it to their advantage but...

I will be shocked if trump runs again, mostly because I just think he will be dead of old age.

I see you've cut Elenor Roosevelt down to 3-4 months running the country, which still exaggerates her actual influence, but you be you.

Archy is mixing himself up with people whose jibes are accurate and funny.

i.e. they may seem accurate and funny to him, but not so much the people who enjoy accurate and funny jibes.

Jill Biden running the country for the last two years isn't on anyone's books. It's the kind of stretch that kills humor in its tracks.

Precedent doesn't mean it was prohibited it, it means it was the norm, it was the expectation.  It was what every President before followed.

A precedent is an action, decision, or event that serves as an example or guide for future similar situations.

FDR is the only one to ever do have more than 2 terms.  He broke the precedent set by G-Dubs.

Did FDR do something to hurt you? 

While FDR running for a fourth term was a mistake given his compromised health, the motivation for the third term was pretty solid: the eve of WWII wasn't a good time to be changing horses. Voters agreed. If you like America, it was the right call.

Grant apparently tried for a 3rd term but the GOP didn't let him.  So I wonder if the current GOP will "s#!t on that precedent" and change their mind for the current guy.  

My guess is they will not only be okay with it, they will actually fight in courts to see it happen.

Sadly, I could see that happening too!  Seems like messing with Amendments is not all that easy to do but who knows.  It won't shock me if trump tries to s#!t on it.

Garfield beat out Grant for the nomination, probably because he was less drunk.
