Punt return problems

Pitman was quoted in the OWH as saying something along the lines of, "I haven't caught punts since about sixth grade, I was pretty nervous in front of 80,000." If we can't trust him he has to go. I know he made a real nice play on the one return. But two bad plays to one doesn't cut it. Why not keep Ross in?

I agree about seeing what Ross can do back their if Pittman doesn't improve in the next game. Pittman looked decent when he actually caught the ball!

You have to wonder if Callahan kept him back there so he could see Pitman in game situations. In other words Ross is the starter, but if he could find someone else, like Pitman, he could rest Ross an extra play. BUt he do have a number of backs so if something were to happen we have subs...

And let's see if this wasn't a case of either first-game jitters or simply poor mechanics that can be fixed during the week. As noted, he did well when it actually caught it - he could simply be taking his eye off the ball to look at the rushers.

Last night on the Callahan show, he said he still had confidence in Pittman. I am guessing he will start against So. Miss and Callahan will go from there.
