Punt Returner?

I realize we split the duties last year Nunn/Grixby but what this year? I think they both did outstanding but I would like to someone else do it who isn't such a key player to the team on their side of the ball. Funny things can happen on Punt Returns and I'd hate to see someone that key to the team get hurt from Punt Returning... So, who would I like to see? Leon Jackson! I think it would be great for him to get out there and use his athletcism finally, who knows where he'll be on the depth chart for RBs, Id imagine...

1. Lucky

2. Glenn

3. Brandon Jackson

4-5. Leon Jackon or Kenny Wilson

what do you think about Leon Jackon being a punt returner?

I like the idea but also Nunn did a great job last year but he needs to :dunno secure the ball better this year.

Well does anyone know or heard who should be the Punt Returner (s) this year, I guess it prolly wont be known until practice starts

I would say Nunn or Jackson. Although, Brothers' return in the Spring Game was pretty impressive.

BTW....Huskerguy you need to fix your banner. Heisman is spelled wrong. Just helping you out Bro. Unless of course it is suppose to spelled that way. :thumbs

i was going to say that brothers might get a look, but there were also talks about bowman getting a look too. I'd love to see leon get a shot, with his speed, he could hit that gap and we'd see nothing but vapor trails! :zoom

I heard that Kenny Wilson will be looked at pretty hard for punt returns. They want him on the field and to get comfortable playing infront of 80,000 lunatics.

:horns2 :horns2 :horns2

I think we have speed all over the place. It will come down to whoever is most comfortable in that position. It takes real BAL*s to stand there and catch the ball with absolute monsters looking to knock your head off. Props to whoever! It could be one or two of MANY. I can't wait to see the battle for that positon. :box

only thing about the leon is if there is a possibility of him RS'ing this year. It is nice to have all these dilemmas... too much talent to decide who gets the ball!

I do hate having someone that is key to our 1st team offense/defense... easy to get hurt on special teams play, so many people flying down field. maybe Bjax, he has some pretty serious wheels IIRC. I dont know, just hold the ball...thats job #1, but it sure did suck two years ago when we had that one guy back there basically to call fair catches every punt... was it keenan?

EDIT: just came to me... Santino Panico!

I think it would be good for Leon to return punts. He has a lot of speed, so it would be interesting for him to show it returning punts. After him I would see Nunn, then Lucky.

Are we all giving up on Grix or what? What is the deal?
Grix is good, dont get me wrong, i am just afraid that he will get hurt, i think we need him more as a DB... PR is one of the more dangerous jobs out there i feel, too many guys going full speed, just too easy to get held up and have 225lbs stright into the side of the knee or something

If Leon can consistantly catch punts then I am all for him. Maybe as a change of pace, throw back Grixby or Nunn. Teams would have to prepare for all sorts of different things with different people back there.
