Not going to quote the long post, but the tackles are not blocking the same guys. I’m thinking it was designed trickery to keep CT in the pocket and get nailed with the delayed blitz.

Can someone explain to me what's the difference between these two plays?

On the first one, the tackles appear to get totally beat without hardly touching the defender.  CT almost gets killed in a sandwich.

On this one, he gets hit on a blitz, but I'm looking specifically at the tackles.  They appear to be able to block their defenders pretty well.

 
So, why can the do it on one play, but not the other?

On the first one, the RT stops his feet before getting engaged.  Once his feet stop, it's easy to get around him.  The LT just seems to get beat.  Can't really tell why but he just didn't get deep enough.

On the second, both did a much better job of keeping their feet moving until the got engaged.  So they kept their options open for longer before committing.

Also, it appears that on the second one, both defenders made more of a move directly at the OT before trying to get around so the OTs could get engaged more quickly.  On the first one DEs appear to be a straight speed rush from the start.
