The thing is he is actually exactly right. This entire system is designed to put the game out of reach early so by the time its crunch time it doesn't matter anymore. Usually we have opportunities to make it happen, we just never seem to take advantage. Yesterday our defense put us in position to but up 21-0+ in the first half, but the offense didn't do their part. My guess is if the offense would have taken advantage early the defense would have never been in position to lose the game. The defense does need to get those stops when the game is on the line, but its annoying because they play well enough with this system the game shouldn't be on the line sometimes. Specifically this game and the Colorado game

IMO this goes back to not near enough guys on the team having any sort of a killer attitude. These are the little things that Scott preaches and hopefully can get corrected. You score when you should score, you don't get an illegal motion penalty or a false start or a hold to ruin your chances. You flipping handle your business and get the mfng 7 points when you should, and almost all of these games move into the W column.. But the team has to have that sense of urgency in the 1st quarter, in the 3rd quarter, in the 2nd quarter and sure as s#!t be able to find it with 4 minutes left in the 4th..But ya.. Needs to be there the entire game.

 
That's called discipline, dude. Doing the right thing all the time and being dependable.

There is still a culture problem.
