Purify's role for USC

Eric the Red

Team HuskerBoard
He caught 1 pass his first game, 2 his secon, while playing in the first half, virtually the entire second half.

Does he blow up against USC for 8 catches? It's been said in this article Gilmore is waiting.

Well, Hell, they didn't wan't to show too much in game tapes for USC! I have a feeling he'll explode for at least 8 catches, 130 yards!

I believe he has a big game... I mean they showed him on purpose to USC yesterday just so he has to be planned for in their practices this week. I think Swift should really lead our WRs though. Herian down the middle somewhere, Purify deep, Swift underneath, and Lucky in the flats as a check down guy. It all sounds great if our O-Line shows up and Zac Taylor can keep his ability to play in the big games like he showed last year.

I think Mo will play a lot more, and really become the third wr for the team. Swift should have a bigger day than yesterday, and Herian should continue to do well.

Is it just me, or does everytime Zac even look at Purify we somehow end up thirty yards down the field. Im telling you, I was watching this guy run routes.... there is not a db in the county that can defend him for 60 minutes. We have got to get the ball to him...

I was surprised they didn't use him inside the 10 yard line at all. I hope they attack USC inside the red zone, just throw it up and let him get it.

Purify will get some grabs. And it will be exciting for us to see him in action. But I really think Herian will be the biggest factor among our receivers. It will be real interesting to see how Pete Carroll and Co prepare for those three and four tight end sets.

I was impressed on how well Purify used his body on that skinny slant route. I don't think USC or anybody for that matter has a corner that could shut down Purify. As Taylor and Purify gain that special connection through out the year. They are going to be a dangerous combo.
