A girl I was dating at the time dragged me to that movie..She even looked a little too much like Prince now that I think about it.  Buying and listening to the soundtrack made the movie seem better than it was in my memory...IE  Apolonia looked much fatter than I remembered...The acting was worse than even the critics said it was...But it was nice to see Lincoln Hayes (Clarence Williams lll) not have to fly over a car to save Julie (old Mod Squad reference).

 
I never saw Purple Rain but recently stumbled upon a Prince's greatest hits album. Even thought his particular genre was not my cup of tea, he was an extremely talented musician. Probably won't watch the movie though.
