Maybe not the best place for this conversation but Milton had 3 runs of 20+ yards all season.  Can we get a definition on who someone who can take it to the house each time is?

Milton had one rush this year longer than 25 yards.  He went 12-0, won the conference and finished 8th in the Heisman voting in directing the #1 offense in the country.

I think you are completely making this up.

 
UCF QBs (Milton and Vedra) passed the ball 389 times (29.9 times per game) compared to running it 111 times (9.25 times per game).

The QB being able to be an accurate and efficient passer is still way more important than being able to (take it to the house).  We need an accurate passer and one that can also pick up those 5-10 yards in space when it opens up or is the right read on a QB run.  That doesn't take a Taylor Martinez, Eric Crouch type of runner.

Agreed. I mean ideally we find a QB like Mariota or Watson who can kill you on their feet, but also pass very efficiently. But, if you can pass and get the run when it’s there that’s all you need.

Precisely this, with Milton at QB on the read option they were asking him to punish the defense for getting too aggressive on chasing their RB's. Milton did a great job of that getting  chunks of yardage, and sometimes a first down, and occasionally but rarely more then that.

Gebbia has the tools to replicate a some of what Milton did this year, probably not as many explosive plays.  POB is another intriguing option, he was a more physical runner if I remember his HS tape and looked ok running it against Minnesota.

 
Im in the camp of thinking Gebbia is a stud. Talented, great work ethic, great attitude. I think he is mobile enough like milton to be serviceable. I think a guy like adrian martinez is the perfect specimen (Marcus Mariotta clone is the perfect fit for this offense). But it doesnt mean a guy like Gebbia cant do great things until we get that guy, or wait a year till martinez redshirts and is ready to play.

That why he ran 600+ yards and 10 running TDs as a Sr. in HS.   Yes, he is a pass first QB but he can run.

McKenzie Milton rushed 93 times for 497 yards and 7 TD's this season.  I see this as very similar to Gebbia and POB.

Gebbia is listed as 6-3, 185lbs

Milton is listed at 5-11, 177lbs

 
When was the last time we started a true freshman at QB game 1? Not sure if we ever have that I'm aware of. 

Tommie Frazier did in 92', but he didn't start the first 3 games. Eric Crouch did in 98' but he didn't initially start either. T Martinez was a RS Freshman when he started. Tommy Armstrong and Cody Green didn't start game 1 either, but started some games as well.
