Just got word that we've been in touch with him, but nothing has materialized yet as far as official visits and whatnot. It sounds like if we can't snag Carnes or Colter, then maybe this guy is our last chance for a QB in 2010? :dunno

I would imagine that it is Colter, Carnes or nothing at QB this year.

We have Jamal Turner all but locked up. If we dont take a QB we could use that spot for Simek.

You're probably right. Nonetheless, Godfrey looks good on video.

I think the chances of getting him are pretty remote. He committed to UCF with two friends/teammates and cited immediate playing time and the opportunity to play together as the reason.

Look at his youtube video.

Career stats, looks like he threw for more than 30 Td's per year.

Listed at 6'1" and 190 but this year he is 6'2" and 210 lbs.

I would not be surprised if he gets some serious attention.

He does have us listed on his school choices.

We could go Godfrey and Smitek and be done with the slow plays. Save an extra scolly for the true long-shot dream athletes.

I heard the reason why nobody pursued this kid too hard is because he let it be known to all the recruiters that he wasn't doing any visits or recruiting related mumbo jumbo during football season. He said he wanted to focus on playing football without the recruiting distractions. He would be ready to hear all offers after his football season was over.

Needless to say, I admit that I really like what I see on film. I also like the fact that he's not getting the same accolades as other well-known dual-threat QB's, yet he seems to have the same tools and skills that they do. He's like a hidden diamond in the rough.

I'm somewhat surprised we aren't pushing harder for him. HI mentioned that we lightly pursued him, but then backed off because of Gabbert, part II.
