QB Dayton Raiola

There are several layers to this issue, I am sure. The fanbase reacts emotionally when things happen in real time. What we are seeing is the natural order to things. We are not the only team that experiences incidents like this, nor are we the only fan base that behaves in this manner. Money has changed everything. If kids are making millions, they are going to have these types of reactions.

I am disappointed in the way the fanbase has turned on a kid/family who have done nothing but try and help the program up to this point. While I am also frustrated that Dayton decided to decommit, he's done nothing but support Nebraska for years.
I don't think people are crapping on Dylan and Dayton as people. But given that they are now paid athletes their game along with their uncle's coaching are 100% up for criticism. Winning often involves stepping on toes.

I've thought about this. Maybe, they are working very hard to keep both Dylan and TJ and they are needing to pay them so much that they needed to cut back on what they were offering Dayton.
I don't think they are probably giving him a ton unless that is part of the package deal with Dylan. We are apparently also significantly upgrading our NIL this offseason.

This seems like it's bigger than just Dayton. Just a feeling based on the fact that he was the most Husker fanatic person in his family and now he's saying "no thanks" to his lifelong dream school? I'm curious as to what else may be changing.

Criticism is fine, but the chatter lately seems to be with a lot more disgust. What happens if he reverses course this weekend and recommits? Do several on this board change their tune and talk about how great it is to get the brothers reunited? Do they still push with this good riddance to the family trend that we're seeing this morning?

Whole lot of people banking on TJ being the answer after beating a bad UCLA team last week. Let's hope he does well the rest of the season, but it is important to remember that he was Dylan's backup for a reason. I hope Dayton makes the decision that he feels is best for himself. If that's joining back up here, great! If not, hopefully he finds a spot he can enjoy and be happy.
