QB update

I am hoping the best player starts. I could give a rats bottom about what Keller or any of them do in their pro careers.

We are Nebraska fans, not the transition to pro football fans.

Give me the best at every second. Wasted scollies are fine with me if the best play. There should never be a problem with playing the best player, never being concerned about their future in the NFL.

Our programs job is to play and win football games for Nebraska, produce quality young men with a diploma. That should always be the main goal. Personally I could care less of the NFL dried up and went away tomorrow. Hopefully pro basketball, and baseball go first.

All I can say is if they talk about this issue again on College Football Live today I'm going to punch my dog. (not really of course)

It's very easy to feel this way, but if you feel this way then you should care less about recruiting. Incoming recruits do put a lot of weight on their final decision as to what kind of pipeline the school has for getting players into the pros. To most 4 and 5 star recruits, college football is nothing more than a transition to pro football.

I am in no way sticking up for Beck here, but BC brought in Taylor because well Beck just wasn't going to be ready that early in his career. Beck could see the writing on the wall and saw he wasn't going to start his second year, so he tucked tail and ran. In college football, there's always been a certain amount of promises looked at whether it be verbal promises or just a common understanding. This is why Mack found it necessary to play Sims over Applewhite. If you want the top notch talent to come to NU, sometimes you do things that doesn't necessarily put your best talent on the field. I had a good friend play under TO back in the late 80's. He said playing time and starting under TO was very political. If you didn't come in as a scholly player, it was almost next to impossible to beat out a scholly player even if the walkon was better.

For all of you who hate the analysts on ESPN, can you imagine the cannon fodder we'd become if Ganz is named as the starter? I mean some have put Keller on the darkhorse list for the Heisman. BC will do the politically correct thing and start Keller. There is no doubt in my mind on this issue!

I understand the sales pitch, been in sales my whole life.

I understand recruiting, but for me the last game at Nebraska is all I am really interested in. I do not follow pro football, I do follow some of the players, but it is nearly impossible for me to watch a pro football game. I doubt I have watched 3 super bowls in their entirety, since the first one.

I certainly hope our head coach does what is right.

My guess is that Keller is the better QB. I expect him to be the starter. But I hope we are not going to be politcally correct. I like that about BC. He has not been to concerned about that in the past.

The question is, if Ganz is selected, ( I doubt ), will the other one pull up his panties and run away again. I think it has happened before.
Good question..........
If Ganz is selected Keller wont go anywhere...he hsa no eligibility left. Am I right on this?

correct ....unless he simply declares for the NFL

What about the 5TH year graduate transfer rule? Wouldn't Sam be able to transfer to any division 1A school he wants and play immediately?

not an issue guys, Sam isn't going anywhere, but under center to take the snaps for the Huskers.
I agree.............now can this thread please die........"Sam will be the starter, but Ganz has really improved" can, and has, been restated and reformed 254 times over the last 2 years.........weve got it pretty well covered. Lets talk about this again after he is actually named the starter eh?
