Question about missouri

Why are the sideline coaches sending signals in while brad smith is calling the count, I've never seen that before. Is he to stupid to audible by himself? That would seem like a distraction to me.

 
The announcers are insisting that its because they are trying to see what defensive package/scheme NU is using, and calling their plays (late) accordingly.

Yea, lets just forget anything Missouri was doing offensively. Yea, it's all the defensive schemes. Nevermind that the whole point of your flavor of the week, the spread option, did exactly what it was designed to do.

Urban Meyer is the bomb. :dumdum

And, yes, I do think it's because Brad can somehow not audible like any other QB.
