Question about Oaklahoma Recruiting

What is it about Oklahoma that draws the recruits?

It seems like every year they seem to get the recruits they want, and when ever we challenge them for a recruit, they usually win the recruiting war.

Florida and USC I can understand, they have the amenities that draw recruits, and Texas is in the middle of recruiting heaven.

But what is so special about Oklahoma that draws top recruits?

Close to home. Texas only takes so many.

That and Stoops still has a very good record head to head with the Longhorns.

Another factor is that, for mid-America, there aren't many teams that you can look to and say that they've been in the national spotlight that Oklahoma has enjoyed of late. Nebraska would be one of the few - had they not slide so far under Solich and had to rebuild.

Kids have short memories - what happened in the mid-'90s is ancient history to a lot of them. Sad but true...
