Question

I said all of the same things about Mac's (overpriced, yuppies, etc.) back when I used PC's. I'd just like to note that the people who are knocking Mac's are people who don't own them/haven't owned them. That might tell you something. I've owned both. I'd bet cacti has too.
never owned one but I've used them...especially in my line work.

Just prefer not to use them for my personal computer.

I have owned both. Never considered a Mac until last year when my computer went down, because Windows Vista was a massive piece of sh#t. So was ME, by the way.

Now I own two MacBooks and I absolutely love them. I will never go back. The things you can do with the mouse pad alone make it worth it. I feel like I am in a Sci-Fi movie every time I use it

Not to mention the processing speed and the fact it does everything for me. I am not a computer genius, this thing is so user friendly. I don't have to worry about installing drivers or anything else. It just does everything automatically.

Oh and to the person who said the Macs had a lot of updates, not nearly the amount Vista had and they are much faster to download and don't slow the entire computer down when they do it.

Much better product. Plus its made of stainless steel.

edit: also anyone that has had problems with the charging plug or cord with a PC will love the MacBook cord. Magnetic so when it is pulled on it just releases instead of messing up the plug or socket in the notebook.

Agreed. MacBook Pro here. Doubly agree on the magnetic charging cord.

I think Roxy wanted a desktop though . . . and I think a Mac costs more than she wanted to spend.

Maybe if Windows was a bit more diligent about needed updates their OS wouldn't be so vulnerable? Just a thought.

Anyways. Doesn't bother me. They install and update within a minute. I'll take that over the problems of Vista any day. Windows 7 may prove to be another story.

Well I don't know, the updates on Vista were terrible. They would never finish and the damn thing would crash before it would finish, so maybe it just took 100 times to actually download.

Vista is a piece of crap, man.

ugh.....i have BOTH a PC and a Mac. Macs are crap IMO.

i run dual boot with both vista and linux and i will soon upgrade to windows 7. I can do anything on my PC that i can do on my mac, except its easier on the PC and i can do twice as many things!

as was pointed out above macs are not immune to virus and i can personally hack a mac so im sure most people could with just a slight knowledge of computers.

Macs are also expensive to repair!

I paid $500 for my PC and i paid $3400 for my mac, which do you think was the better deal?! the mac sits on the shelf and i will NEVER buy another again...
