Questions for Husker fans

I'm heading for Lincoln on Friday so I can experience Memorial Stadium and cheer on my Broncos Saturday. Does anybody have any suggestions for me for Friday evening regarding; 1) food - a good steak, perhaps? 2) bars, nightlife.

I've heard great things about Husker fans, the game day atmosphere, etc. Really looking forward to this weekend. I'm hoping that the Broncos play to their potential and if they do, you may be surprised that it could be a very competitive game.

I'd welcome any feedback on my questions. The more suggestions, the better. Thanks.

FWIW, I may live in Colorado, but I'm no Buffs fan. I've personally seen how they treat you when you come to Boulder. They put the "a$$" in classless. I hope CSU kicks their butt this weekend.

Downtown steaks: Misty's

Other fancy food: Dish

Lower cost, but very good (and good homemade beer): Laslo's in the Haymarket.

Even lower cost but still good: Barry's in the Haymarket.

Drink: O Street's 1423 bars.

Yia Yia's near 14th and O- best imported beer selection.

Runza - barf bag needed.

Misty's is awesome

all bars are good bars, but the cops like to hand out DUIs so have a dd or walk.

Drinking: O Street

Fast Food: Must try a CHEESE Runza

Fancier Food: Ask someone else, I'm not a huge fan of anywhere in Lincoln
fixed, Runza also has the best burgers and fries of any fast food restaurant in the world!!

Welcome MileHigh and good luck to the Bronco's this Saturday. I've actually eaten at Laslo's a few times and they have good food and good beer. Basically anywhere in the Haymarket is going to be a good place to eat with okay nightlife. Have a good time and stay safe while drinking. :thumbs

I'm going to throw this out there just in case you love BBQ and end up wanting to have a meal away from the bustle of downtown Lincoln. Paul's BBQ at (basically) 48th and Pioneers is the best BBQ in town. In fact, it's the best BBQ I've had, and that's coming from someone who has had a lot of BBQ in a lot of different states.

But it's not near downtown, so it's probably not feasible unless you're adventurous and want to drive through half of Lincoln. But just in case, there you have it.

I like Runza, but it's certainly not for everyone. It's also fast food, though, so I rarely touch it for that reason. But if fast food is your thing, you should at least give Runza a try while you're here.
