Yeah, what was up with taking a knee at the 2 yard line when we had time to score another TD?

Why didn't TO call a timeout and atleast get 3 points out of that drive.

Why didn't we go for 2 after Tommie's 75 yard, 9 tackle breaking run?

I hope we do too. Because unlike yourself, I BELIEVE in this team and think they could pull out a victory.

I'd like to add my thoughts on two other comments.

1) The youth of the team will be beneficial to us in the long run. As they continue to work together and mold, they will become more cohesive and wins will be automatic once more. Take for example the Huskers of the mid 90's.

2) Fumbles. Fumbles are contributed to a lack of SELF disipline. Period.

Why exactly do you wish NU would play FSU?

Would it be because you wish NU could play them and win or is it because you wish NU would lose?

If it is because you wish NU would win or because you really do not like FSU?

If you wish them simply to play FSU to lose, then I ask what would be your "wants" or purpose for this? Would it be that you wish them to lose to downplay or hurt "professionwise" Callahan and Pederson? Or, would you wish them to lose to show that you are correct in saying NU fans should not be content with just going to a bowl? Just curious of you rationale for your response.

 
I agree that a lot of the "dumb" mistakes comes with youth. Furthermore, we have pretty significantly changes personnel from last year to this year. E.G. on offense:

Basically "new" TE's.

In KSU, we had a new Ts, and if I remember correctly the previous LT did not play much last year. A concern is that Seppo did not appear to improve from last year to this year; HOWEVER, I am in no way an expert on grading line play.

Didn't both guards play significantly last year? If so, once again, I do not see much improvement. Same statement applies on grading line play.

Same center - seems like he performs fairly well to me.

WRs - Basically all new receivers. Leflore, if I remember correctly, is the only one with any experience from last year.

New QB

New FB??? We use the FB sooooo little, I can't remember if Todd played much last year.

IB - should be experienced, and should not be fumbling and not picking up blitzes. As with a TON of NFL guys though (look at Dillon right now, or Thomas Jones for Chicago, etc etc), I think we have over used Corey and wore him down. It would have been great if the young guys could have played more, earlier.

While, I'll give you inexperience/youth at a ton of positions, I'm not sure I buy it for the O-line. I think they should be performing better than they are right now. Unless, the blocking schemes that this offense requires needs more time for the O-line to gel (which, if they are zone blocking, I may buy).

About the TE's, we really miss Matt Herian. I think Zac Taylor would be able to use him as somewhat of a security blanket. His hands are great. We could really use him on 3rd downs and in the red zone. Plus just the prescence of him on the field would draw some linebackers away from the middle and possibly open the run a little more.

More WR's than LeFlore have had experience. Grant Mulkey, Terrence Nunn, and Isaiah Fluellen have all had experience. However, Fluellen has been plagued by injuries. He has great speed and I think we could use him on some deep routes as well as reverses.

 
I forgot about Mulkey and Nunn - Sorry. Fluellen has been hurt so much I don't know if I would say he has very much experience.

Not even close. The death of Brook was devastating; he was an outstanding person and player. A stat is just a stat. numbers :WTH

We've always been known for our tough non-confernce schedules. Look at 02 if you want to see how scheduling helps. Utah St, Troy St, McNesse St. Man those are some top level teams. :wacko:

Like Ganz or Davis couldn’t have gone 1-6 and thrown an INT. Sacrificing the kids and the programs future for his own personal gain. what a shame.

Here's a fact for you. Dailey was 4th string behind Taylor, Ganz, and Davis. Beck is behind only Taylor. Dailey wouldn't have seen the field in that situation. Nice try with that though. Maybe just maybe those other guys passed Dailey because they were better then him. That's impossible though, I'm sure Callahan just wanted to run him out of town. dedhoarse

The starting qb drops to 4th string, pretty much overnight. :blink: Ganz and Davis wouldnt be 2nd string at UNO, let alone UNL. Should Taylor have been the starter in front of Dailey, I think that most people would say yes. Should Dailey have been demoted to 4th string, no way, no chance.

That's impossible though, I'm sure Callahan just wanted to run him out of town.  dedhoarse

He did a pretty good job of running quite a few of his players, most of them his BEST players out of town, so why would he care if his only experienced qb left??

I keep hearing this about missing Herian, but prior to 04, Herian had a 23 yd average per reception for his 1st 2 years, and last years average was 12.8, I believe. Not exactly the "big threat" guy in billy c's offense.

That, and he was pretty much ignored after about the 1st 3 games, means that the TE isnt as important in billy c's scheme as on might think.
