Random thumbs up to the whole board

Thanks to the overwhelming majority of people on this board who keep everything civil and in perspective. Things have gotten ugly and weird and very attacky at another Husker board I usually read (I'm sure some of you could guess the one), so the discussion here has been a welcome sight. I'll definitely be hanging around this place more often.

I thought the World was flat so I haven't ventured out too far from fear of falling off!

I think the other board to which you refer has gone overboard with some overaggressive mods and at times borderline (if not outright) censorship of posters. Also there are some infighting and grudges being held over their that have gone on for way too long and sets a bad tone. Another downside of the site I think you are talking about is extremely aggressive popup adds. With a good blocker that can be tolerable, but when porn popups start hitting my smartphone when I visit the site, I have to draw the line there and cross it off my list.

It's prob. the same message board I check out once in a while and rarely post at because I have gotten personally attacked there. It gets pretty bad over there....actually really bad at times. If you aren't anti-Bo...you will get beaten to a pulp with all sorts of chastising and berating.....They don't understand that Bo has done some positive things for the program....it's natty title or "you're no good" over there from a good portion of the board...which I find delusional......

Agreed. Started frequenting this board more as my primary a couple months ago, and I like that people can actually discuss and disagree with others without getting ugly. The Bo argument isn't black and white. He has done some truly remarkable things. On the other hand, it's not hard to argue that we're still not disciplined, physical, or competitive (in Prime Time) team in Year 6, and that responsibility probably does not fall solely on the players.

Anyway, well done, Huskerboard.

I also enjoy the creativity and sense of humor of the posters here. The gif responses can be very funny and appropriate at times, and no other Husker board even comes CLOSE to that (I mean, it's SHOCKING that the other board doesn't seem to have a sense of humor).

Are you talking about RSS? If so, then yes, RSS is full of debbie downers and know-it-all douches.

Yes....Yes I am...

It's ugly...very ugly. I don't think they realize that their attitudes and sentiments not only makes them look hostile and negative, it has the potential to affect recruits and players. They have to know that players and recruits look at those boards.........it gets horrid over there unfortunately.

It's an interesting bit of sociology how different personalities fit into specific online communities, even when those communities have the same central purpose such as rooting for the Huskers. I used to lurk on other sites but couldn't even imagine paying to post on any of them. The personality on HuskerBoard is much more homey than any other.

And the price is right.

There are at least a couple Husker boards that are pretty terrible. The problem is generally that the mods/admins are all of the same mindset regarding the program and develop a sort of God complex. Then they go after anyone who disagrees. I haven't been on RSS much, but it sounds like it qualifies. But it's just as bad when management are comprised of true Bolievers and intolerant of opposing viewpoints or even mild criticism of Bo. There's at least one board I know of like that. So either extreme is bad and the common denominator of both is that mods forget that it's a discussion board. What brings value to a place like this are the different viewpoints and perspectives and the ability to have a civil discussion.

As far as I know from experience....it is the WORST PLACE regarding negativity towards Bo.

Sounds like your talking about Huskerpedia, there I said it.

I lurk over there 'cause I like the article links and stuff, but the negative vibe is very intense more than usual. They have a very negative and vocal minority that is turning into a majority. The more moderate posters are staying away and the negative ones are just feeding off of each other.

I like the discussions at this board most on here are level headed and knowledgeable.
