From OWH:

Former Husker and UNO player Randy Stella has signed with the Omaha Beef.

Stella finished his career at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2004. He had 44 tackles and 22 assists - including a team-high 14.5 tackles for loss.

He played in 11 of 12 games as a freshman at Nebraska, and in his sophomore season had a team-leading 58 tackles.

"Having Randy become a member of our football family is huge," Beef coach Robert Fuller said in a press release. "His athleticism is amazing, and I cannot wait to see what type of impact he will have for us defensively."

Good for him that he is still playing, but if he hadn't screwed up so bad, he most likely would be playing in the NFL. What a waste of talent. :dumdum

I saw him play a couple games at UNO. They were only using him as a third down pass rush specialist and he did get a couple sacks. Stella would have to be up there with Farley as one of the great "Could-have-beens".

I know in some of these league guys play both ways. Is there anything anywhere about Stella playing some offense? I may have to go to a Beef game now to see him play.

I believe he was a running back in high school at Omaha Benson

Parade All-American RB-LB, sub 4.5 speed, nose for the ball, just loved weed too much. I would love seeing him out at the club with his 2000 Fiesta Bowl jacket on acting like he was the sh#t, all the while everyone was laughing at him because he was a joke and wasted his talent. I hope he can get in with the Beef and do something, but I have heard from someone who is friends with him, he hasn't changed much.
