Take the fact that it's only the second game, second year with the coaches, the opponent, etc. and rank the team as a whole.

 
(7) We are getting better, the defense raises this number up a bit, but the offense with all the droppped passes does look better.

 
I like what were doing right now. The offense always takes time to gell, defense will caryy them for a while, maybe som eof the season, look at the '99 team. We needed two Defensive td's by Julius Jackson

 
have to give them a 5 - need the O to step up D is playing great against the competition right now. Cant have the defense outscore the offense the rest of the way - offense NEEDS to start making plays on a more consistant basis.

Our defense is looking very good. But we have too many questions on the offensive side. Our line isn't opening up holes, Taylor's completion percentage is too low, we aren't converting on third down and turnovers.

But on the plus side Taylor looked more confident in the second half. Things started to come together for a while there.

Have we played anyone who has won a game yet? Pitt hasn't won a game yet either. We should beat Pitt though and go 3 - 0, half way to a bowl game.

 
I'd say about a 3. Defense has done well but won't when they play a good team. Offense is pitiful. Coaching pitiful.

I said it in another thread, I'll say it again; we played the 4th best rushing attack in the league last year and held them to 103 yards.

Yet if Pelini was the DC and the defense was playing like this you would be saying how great they are. Come on dude the defense looks good just give them some credit.

 
D = 9 & O = 3 for an overall average of 6!

Offense can really claim only 1 TD in 2 games. The Maine rushing TD doesn't count because it capped a 1 yd drive (punt return set it up). I think the O is improving, but its got a long, long way to go.

 
I give them a 6. The offense isn't there yet but I think its only a matter of the line playing better. The defense has done a wonderful job. The big picture is we are right where we want to be as a team, and that is 2-0.

 
The defense gets a 10 and the offense gets a zero. The defense will wear down if they have to be on the field for 80+ plays every week. The 40 something percent or so competion rate looks like last year. Sorry not impressed at all so far based on competition we have faced. We probably won't know what we have till conference play and that could be ugly.
