RB Brandon Wegher

Apparently we may have backed off on Wegher a bit and aren't on his list any longer. Not sure if that's true or not.

Scout now reads 187 lbs and 4.43, and ESPN has 190 and "10.8 100-meter and sub-4.4 40-yard track times". He probably has been putting on muscle weight given his workout routines.

Has he been in any of the recruiting service or Nike camps? Was he at the Nebraska camps?

 
FYI,

he visited NU on March 5th, and recieved an offer sometime around the first week of april.

was hot on NU at the time of the visit and offer, but now according to SuperPrep.com, has 7 schools of interest, and NU is not one of them

Maybe after Tray committed they decided to hold out for Oku? :dunno

Too bad passing a local kid who was pretty interested, but there are only so many spots, and I'm beginning to think there was just one or two slots for a RB.

 
what evidence is there they passed on him? Doesn't sound like this staff has been super picky so far. If were just guessing, i'd think it's more likely he lost interest in us vs the staff losing in interest in him.

Unless he's dead set on playing RB, maybe Bo could bring him in and put him on D and have him tear someones head of at safety or linebacker. Isn't that what Dr. Tom used to do???

 
From what I've read on rivals they liked their chances at getting somebody higher on their rb-board for the last spot so they've rolled the dice a bit and backed-off on Wegher. Don't know if it's true or that I agree with the move but that is what I've read.

i'd still go for him and if we just get him fine, if we get annother send him to a db spot.

NU is recruiting him as an athlete, so i think it will come down to what he wants to do

there is a lot of talk that NU is in the drivers seat for Oku, so who knows
