Your statement made it sound like they weren't sure yet if he has the core classes needed.

The statement sounded like it did because I'm not a coach who knows the details :P . Also it's a new rule so they may not be 100% knowledgeable.

Here's what Mavric quoted from Frost a month ago:

"I think there’s a chance he might be able to make those (core credits) up. If he’s a qualifier but doesn’t have the right number of core classes by his 11th-grade year, that would allow him to be an academic redshirt. We’ll see where he lands, and we’ll certainly fight for him no matter what the situation is.”

I dont have an account. Could you give me the highlights.? I assume it says he graduated high school but does not have some core classes bla bla. Does it have any details on the next step?

Like others have posted, the gist of the article, minus fluff, is that he needs a 20 on the ACT.  He'll be in Lincoln if he does.  Will he be eligible right away, still unknown... just get the 20 first and go from there.

I wish I could help tutor him.

Although, a kid I tutored failed intermediate algebra for the 3rd time under my watch. But I wasn't the for the first 2 and it's not my fault he didn't bring his calculator to the first exam.

20 seems a little high to "Need". It used to be like a 15 or 16 didn't it?

Hmmm. Does he have a choice of taking ACT or SAT test? It's been awhile but I remember SAT being a little easier. I took them both. Is it regional? Down here in Texas, most take the SAT.
