Assessing the talent: Great upside to this guy. Perfect frame to add muscle. That’s not to say he isn’t all ready. Tall, with great quickness and speed. Is being recruited as a defensive back and running back. Won all kinds of track championships last year in Washington.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 90% He represented Nebraska well in the Army All-Star game, getting a chance to show the national where he is headed. Grades are a concern.

Its too early to call it in the bag but there is a good chance he will be a cornhusker next year. He will be a good pickup.

 
I've heard he doesn't run very hard, he's really fast, explodes thru the hole, but goes down easy, He doesn't break too many tackles. Supposedly he is fast to the ball and explodes on opposing ball carriers. I see him being burried in the depth chart at RB. Id like to see him on defensive side of the ball. I think we are doing fine at running back and this would still allow us to get another iback like britton.

 
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Jackson said Nebraska recruited him to play running back.The nation's 10th-ranked high school cornerback in rivals.com's position rankings, Jackson chose Nebraska after receiving offers from California, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State.

Jackson has run the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and recorded a 35-inch vertical leap. In addition to cornerback, Jackson also plays receiver for Pasco High.

"Anytime Leon touches the ball, he can score," Pasco head coach Steve Graff told rivals.com. "He's that darn fast and that darn good."

Jackson was among seven recruits who visited Nebraska's campus last weekend, when the Huskers defeated Kansas 14-8. From those seven players, the Huskers earlier this week landed commitments from place-kicker Jordan Congdon of San Diego and wideout Brodrik Hunter of Humble, Texas.

Jackson becomes the 13th player known to have committed to joining Nebraska's 2005 recruiting class. Husker head coach Bill Callahan has said NU hopes to have 15 commitments by the end of this month.

I hope that we use him on the defensive side of the ball. We need a couple of big hitters back there. We have great coverage people right now but I wouldn't call any of our players big hitters yet.

 
Actually I read an article and the coaches have agreed to let him try RB, but I see him on the defensive side of the ball. He just needs to sign the papers so he's ours. Then will go from their.

Jackson didn't care if the Huskers got killed and

he will be playing in the U.S. Army all Star game oon tv at the end of the year.

 
According to a Rivals/Huskers Illustarted article, Leon hade to reassure everyone that he is 100% commited to the Huskers. He will not be taking anymore visits.

He also recieved the necessary 17 ACT score.
