Ok, so we've lost three games. It seems to be the opinion of most of the "experts" that the USC game was lost before the kickoff - too conservative. We were pretty much the last team to play USC with their all-world WR and he was a big part of their win. So, even though they have struggled since NU, it is hard to tell how good they truly are. Is Jarrett (sp?) back yet? I'really haven't been paying attention.
Then we lose to Texas at home. It seemed to be the opinion of most of the "experts" that the Texas game showed just how close NU was to being back in the National Spotlight. Not there yet, but definitely getting there. Texas missed a couple of FGs, which would have put the game a little further out, but whose to say we wouldn't have overcome that as well.
Then we lose to OSU. It seems now the "experts" think we pretty much suck, and won't even win the Big 12 North. Even if we do, I'm sure they say we will get annihilated on a neutral field by Texas.
So what is the deal? How good or bad are we? Was the OSU game an aberation? Did we just have a "Texas sized hangover"? I'm not sure. We sure do not have any "big" wins to say that we are better. However, if we are that bad, did Texas play poorly against us? Or did we just over-achieve for one game?
Only time will give us the answer to this question. Three wins, with at least one of them beign utter domination, and you'd have to say OSU was just a "bad day". One win, and you'd have to say that there has been little improvement of this team over last year. Two wins at home, and a loss to A&M on the road would make me think that BC really has to re-think how he motivates this team on the road.
Only time will tell I guess.
