Realign the Big XII?

All-Conference
Being so caught up in the excitement, I forgot to post this. Yesterday morning, the GameDay crew proposed an idea that really got me thinking. They want to realign the Big XII. They said most of the south teams have a winning tradition (OU, UT, aTm,) where in the North only NU and CU ( <_< ) have a winning tradition. What if OU came up North and our rivalry was restored. But think of this if OU comes north so does OSU and UT so they can keep their rivalries. What do you think of this?

They proposed an east and west thing, but Nebraska being in any category with 'East' in the title is just wrong.

NU Vs OU

NU Vs MU

NU Vs KSU

NU Vs CU

Every year, would be glorious, or flipflop the the MU and KSU games every year.

I miss the old NU/OU rivalry on Thanksgiving day.

I heard someone else propose to eliminate the north/south division
:yeah If sCUm continues to suck I wonder who would replace them. And if ABC would still sign on for a National game that includes Neb vs ???? on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Does anyone out there know how far out our contract goes w/ ABC for that game slot?? Or is it a yearly thing??

I don't care how they would realign the conference, just as long as the NU/OU rivalry would be back. It is a joke that they took that away from both schools.

wont happen. as much as we like the ou/nu game , texas/ou is much much bigger

I dont see it happening. Right now is more or less the reverse of when the Big 12 was formed. Back in '96 NU, CU and KSU were the big dogs. OU, and UT were lucky to make bowlgames. Tech wasnt much more than they are now, tough, but never a contender. A&M was the best program from the south.

NU is comming back, MU is better than they have been, even with the Pinkle factor. As much as we have CU and KSU, they may have made good hires and might beable to get back to being powerfull. And ISU and KU look to still be more or less the bottom feeders they always have been.

Acouple rebuilding seasons is not a reason to panic or do anything drastic.

Well we all know the South dominates the North. So far this season collectively the North's record against the South is 3 wins and 13 losses. Overall the North as a division has 13 total wins and 23 losses. But I don't think a re-alignment is necessary or even desirable. The way things stand now, the way Callahan is recruiting, we will in all likelihood be going to the CCG year after year. This means in most seasons we will be one game away from a BCS bowl almost every season. Now I would like to see us play the sooners every year but if we want to toughen up our schedule we can just play a tougher non-conference slate.

give it a few years and it'll probably balance out and the North will be dominant over the south...

back in the late 90's the North was way better than the south with OU sucking it up, and Nebraska, KSU, and CU all being dominant

I don't know about dominant, but the North had been getting better until this year. I don't know what happened to IA State, Kansas and CU. Well I know what happened to CU, but IA State was a real surprise.

I am not sure I like the idea of realigning at this point.
