A surprise visitor came outta left field this weekend and landed in Lincoln.

WR Tyrell Spain from San Diego (Calif.) Mesa Community College, 6-3 190-pounds. Former HS quarterback who committed to New Mexico State outta high school, but didn't qualify. Then took a year off before he went to CC in San Diego.

Wyoming, Nevada and Oregon State have expressed interest, & he is currently commited to Tulsa.

The NU coaches REALLY like what they saw in Spain's film, and are shocked this guy has gone unnoticed by the big dawgs for this long -- so if he passes the eyeball test this weekend and his grades are up to snuff, dont be surprised to see an offer and a commitment from Tyrell this wknd.

Size and speed. You cant teach either. We have alot of recruits :cheers in this mold. That is just what we needed.

cannot confirm on rivals or BRR anyone else hear anything?

How many scholarships do we have left for these guys? I know there has to be one waiting for Reggie Smith, but it has to be getting close to being full. I will see what I can find out on it.

edit: I guess we have 4 left to give. One's gotta be for Reginald.

I don't think Meyers visited this weekend, did he? Thought I hears the NU coaches showed up at his doorstep and he wasn't home, and after the fact just told them that they were wasting his time. Anyone hear anything different?

 
i think he changed his mind

he was a soft verbal a week before the visit

then for some odd reason he said he was solid to the sooners

did he visit or not!!

 
Myers did not visit. Only Picou, Tomerlin & Spain.

On the list for next weekend: The law offices of Bryan Wilson & Guesly Dervil.
