Recruiting update
With the national signing date on Feb. 6, the next several weeks figure to be a little nuts on the recruiting circuit.
This weekend, dual-threat quarterback Kody Spano (Stephenville, Texas) is expected to visit Nebraska's campus. Spano originally committed to Oklahoma State, but is very high on Nebraska. Tulsa is also in the mix.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Spano wants to enroll in college classes for the spring semester, so expect a decision from him very soon.
Things will be much more busy the second weekend of January, when Nebraska has nine recruits visiting campus.
According to Scout.com, the current list of guys coming in that weekend include:
Linebacker Brian Moore (Klein, Texas)
Linebacker Will Compton (Bonne Terre, Mo.)
Defensive tackle Eddie Brown (Waller, Texas)
Defensive lineman John Youboty (Klein, Texas)
Cornerback David Whitmore (Port Arthur, Texas)
Safety Charles Mitchell (Clarksdale, Miss.)
Offensive lineman Dan Hoch (Harlan, Iowa)
Running back Collins Okafor (Omaha)
Quarterback Sean Renfree (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Compton, Whitmore, Hoch and Okafor are already on Nebraska's list of 16 commitments.
And on the walk-on front....
Justin Jackson, a defensive linemen out of Norris High School, will walk on to Nebraska.
Jackson had 84 tackles and 18 tackles-for-loss while playing Class B ball this past season.
