Recruits say the darndest things

I'm not into reading between the lines or getting all fired up about subtle things, but I was reading some interviews with our recruits, and I had some interesting observations.

Two of our recruits (Kuli and another defensive recruit) have mentioned Bo Pelini's name when asked about the coaching situation at NU. I found it interesting as well that while our recruiting class is falling to pieces, the top defensive JUCO prospect made a solid commitment to us this week (Kuli).

Does he know something about who our head coach might be that's more than just the speculation we read on these boards? Or is he drinking the same Kool Aid as the rest of us, and just basing this on what he would like to see happen?

If it were the latter, I don't think he would have committed so solidly. LSU was his other top choice. Coincidence? Or does Kuli and a few of our other recruits have information from their conversations with TO about who our primary target really is?

Well, since Kuli obviously has inside info, that kind of thing can't stay quiet for long. The other LSU defensive recruits must know, so we will be getting some of them soon, right? Right? Well, I still don't see any coming. Oh well, so much for that theory.

I'm not one to start rumors, but a distant relative of Bo's from Italy called me last night and told me Bo is N. This is from a reliable source that has never been wrong. She's been following Husker football since Marco Polo brought pasta from China.

 
Like I said in the last thread about this. If he knows something and TO or Pelini has let it slip then everyone would know and the Sh*t would hit the fan and LSU fans and administrators would be in an uproar that their DC is already recruiting for the other team. I find it very far fetched to think Kuli committed because he was told by TO or BP that BP was going to be coach next year...Maybe he just likes the tradition and he did say he thought of Nebraska as "Defensive End U". Even with the poor performance of Coz as DC NU has still produced quality D-ends...

Not funny, these ridiculous attempts at "crazy rumors" have gone way past their prime....

He committed because he loves the program and the university. Not because he has inside information. Most kids commit to a coaching staff because of the relationships they build with them. Others, mostly NU kids, come to NU because it's NU. Kuli is one of those kids. He committed because he really likes Nebraska, independently of who the coaches are.

 
IMO, this kind of information would not be given to these recruits as there would be absolutely ZERO, nada, zilch way of keeping it quiet. It's pure speculation on their part.

Ya, that's why you're the only one making them up anymore, they were funny for about 3 days then people have stopped because they stopped being funny and were annoying. But do what makes you happy I guess, it's just my opinion...

 
Maybe the entire defense at LSU will run through walls and transfer to Lincoln for this guy.

I wonder if it is somewhat possible that we'll be able to snatch a few LSU commits that did so because of Pelini? Assuming he becomes the coach, this is.
