Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.) talking trash

Eric the Red

Team HuskerBoard
I was watching a congressional hearing the other day. The topic was the BCS. As all the Congressional members were going over their opening statements, Lee Terry (R-Neb), began talking some trash about the '97 championship year. First off he started by saying he was a proud NU alumni and booster and loves the Cornhuskers. Then he said he like the BCS and if it had been in place in '97 we could have seen NU beat up in Michigan by double digits. He commented that he was just trying to get the trash talking started. If I can find the transcript I'll put it on here. It was classic.

Note: I'll disregard the fact that he's a republican for the purposes of this thread :thumbs

what the hell are they doing talking football in Congress, when there are a lot of other important national issues to deal with? as usual we are sure getting our monney's worth out of these clowns...

That was brought several times in opening statements.

Did anyone see that clip of South Korea's gov't on the news?

They were just about getting into fisticuffs over some issue, and there was definitely a pushing match going on.

I think that's sort of healthy, once in a while :box
