Rhule would have been offered the job, off the record, already before Franklin was even fired. They likely have some idea who they’ll target. If it’s Rhule, we’ll know pretty soon, he’s not the type of person to flat out lie about something like that on a live press conference. That will be the first question tomorrow

I don't think Rhule would lie, but there's also plenty of ways to answer or avoid questions about this kind of stuff.
It'll still be interesting to see what he says, but IMO, Penn St. would be clowns to consider him their primary target at this point if James Franklin wasn't good enough. They're also probably not going to make an announcement until the season is over because of the new transfer portal rules.
If he says "I will not be taking the Penn State job," I'd say there's a 90% chance that's correct.
Anything less than that and the door is open until it's not.

I’m not sure if Rhule is a big enough get to appease the boosters and fan base. The only reservation I have is how close MR and Pat Kraft are. Pretty close
