Randy Edsall for DC would be very wise and realistic hire, IMO, and we potentially fire Banker tomorrow and pick Edsall up. We'd only have Edsal for a few seasons (unless we pay close to 1m/yr for him, I'd wager) and he's made some excellent defenses out of nothing more than chewing gum, hockey tickets, toothpicks, and 2* recruits that even MacGyver would be jealous of.

Not to pile on, but Kelly's offenses in the NFL have been nothing to sneeze at. He's kept it rolling there as well with Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez... And Bradford's finally coming on now.

Probably not unless we had back to back losing seasons. Remember, we usually fire winning coaches. We haven't had somebody come in a lose this quickly and in such inept ways. This is new territory for NU in a way. If we could go 6-6 and then 8-4 or something next year, he will be fine.

What about Frost as DC? He played safety in the NFL, and he was promoted to DC from LB coach in CFB.

Hopefully the boosters can break them up at the end of the year...especially if the defense continues to be as bad as it is currently and we don't make a bowl.
And if they can't...well, then this is Callahan all over again.

I just wanted to play the same game everyone else does. Seems like when ever any name is mentioned it is destroyed.
Chip Kelly won't come here, he is being mentioned now for USC, Texas and yes even Oregon if they so choose to walk Helfrich to the front door.
Seems to me that Nebraska now, on 3 different occasions has either waited too long to fire coaches or not long enough. Seems like the next year after Nebraska has hired there next great coach, a list of A List coaches are looking for work...........patience.
