RIP Coach Tenopir

All I can think of now is the practice. I suppose that was Milt's way of feeling at peace, and that's a cool thing to think about. Thanks Uncle Milt. Go find Arnie and play nine with him.

So sad to hear this but was glad to hear he got to be on the field one last time before he passed.

It has been great to hear about how accessible Riley has made this program to Milt that last two years. Glad to see him around sharing his love for Nebraska with the current staff. Condolences to his family.

Milt wanted to say one last goodbye to something he obviously loved when he visited. RIP. A true Husker legend in more ways than just a football coach.

Milt Tenopir = Nebraska Cornhuskers LEGEND.

During his coaching career with Nebraska:

  • 3 National Championships.
  • Offensive Line won 13 NCAA Rushing Titles.
  • 6 Outland Trophy winners.
  • 2 Lombardi Award winners.
  • 21 All-American Offensive Lineman.
  • 49 All-Conference Offensive Lineman.
  • 27 NFL players.

  • From 1978 to 2002 Nebraska offense ranked in the Top 4 nationally in rushing 24 out of 25 years!
  • 1995 National Championship team didn't give up a single sack the entire year. Had only 1 returning starter from the 1994 National Championship team.

Milt Tenopir was also the innovator along with Tom Osborne of one of the most widely used football blocking concepts in football today...across all levels of football...
