Rodgers says keep Riley

Hello, my first post..

The Jet kind of dogs on fans, evidently not realizing/considering that he himself is a fan now. Last I looked, he is no longer playing football, thus making himself an EMOTIONAL fan.

Yea, don't really care what JR has to say.  Great player, pretty worthless person.  His opinion should have absolutely no bearing on the situation.

Nice to see he was able to get away from trying to get a free steak at Misty's long enough to comment on Mike Riley.

JR really likes Riley, and I do too, just not as my head coach.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. There's zero reason for animosity, or language like "poison" or "cancer", in referring to Mike Riley. He came here as one last adventure, gave it his absolute best, did a lot of good in restoring the image and health/respect within the program, energized recruiting, embraced the state and the fans and the university entirely, and it just hasn't worked out.

If/when he's no longer our head coach, it would be nice if the collective response of husker fans was, "Thanks for the effort, Mike. No hard feelings - good luck in retirement."

Rodgers is entitled to his opinion. I respect that, just like for anybody else. But in my opinion, he's wrong. Mike Riley just isn't a good fit for Nebraska. But I think he'd be okay for a place like Oregon State. Aren't they looking for a new head coach?
