Rojo Breakdown: NU penalties on the decline

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that the blame for the bad far exceeds the credit for the good.

Personal fouls seems awfully high. What all could that entail? Roughing the passer, hands to the face...etc?
Excessive celebration (see: Kenny Bell TD against Illinois)

Unsportsmanlike conduct (see: Bo smacking ref with hat)
Kenny Bell's excessive celebration penalty was Grade A bullsh#t.

All he did was throw the diamonds up (like he does every time he scores), then pumped up the crowd while turning around to celebrate with his teammates.
As is true of 90% of excessive celebration penalties. Short of sacrificing a goat at the 50-yard line, I'm not sure there is such a thing as excessive celebration in major athletics.

In any event, I gotta believe 2010 was a high-water mark for penalties for us. I can't talk about that A&M game to this day without getting pissed off. Not to mention the roughing the passer against Osborne for his sack on Gabbert. That year was full of BS calls by Beebe's henchmen.
