Root for Boise St. and Kellen Moore

It's their first bowl game of the year... are they legit? yes and no, they are a good team, could they hold up to a schedule that had more then 2 games a year or consecutive games against good teams... it's unlikely, but not impossible. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing with the current system.

Fixed.

Boise looked pretty good and dismissed the silly notion that they can't compete with SEC teams. I really hope they get a shot at the BCS title this year.

Georgia was 6-7 last year. Richt is a coach with one of the hotter seats in cfb this year. I'll wear Texas Longhorn gear for a week if Georgia finishes the season ranked in the top 25.

If this represents Boise's "big" win for the year, color me very unimpressed. They do not deserve a shot at a BCS title until they play a conference schedule that doesn't resemble Wayne State's.

I don't, because I don't want to play them for it. Give us a real team.
Until we have a playoff we won't ever know if we have two real teams playing in the championship. Boise has shown that it can compete with the best teams and it deserves a shot at the title.

IMO it deserves nothing until they schedule harder teams consistsnly, and I don't mean 1 team each year either.

I don't know about Georgia but they did have a lot of close losses last year and return a lot of starters so I'd say they have a pretty decent chance of finishing in the top 25.

If Boise could join a top conference they would but that's not there call. They've won enough high profile games over the years to prove that they can compete with the top teams though.

It's not about having a few high profile wins over a number of years...that's simply not enough. The meat of a schedule, the brutal slog, as it were, is in your conference. Many teams schedule one decent noncon knowing that their real tests will come once the conference slate begins. Boise plays one non-con a season knowing that the rest of the schedule is going to be a cakewalk for the most part. If an undefeated Boise team leapfrogged a one loss B1G team or SEC team or Pac-12 team it would be ridiculously unjustifiable.

They just don't play enough good teams. That's the bottom line. That's not their fault, but it isn't ours either.

SO........let me ask all the anti-Boise crowd this then. Had the NU-Boise thing would have went down and that game was played last weekend, who would have won? With all the debbie downers after one game, what would this board be like?

Seriously, Boise has one of the best coaches in the game, peronally for me the best QB in the game, and all they do is go out every year plug in new players and just win. They controlled the line on both sides of the ball, and even if it is a "down" UGA team their lines are and always will be talented.

So they are a small school that thought they were getting into a better conference. Nothing they can control with those better teams jumping ship.

That is the thing that they realize though. All of America knows a one lossteam from a major conference will get the nod over them. Does that mean they will just bend over and take it? No they b!^@h and moan and that is their right as fans. Kinda like 1 second ya know.

It's impossible to project Paul, but I strongly believe that the Blackshirts are vastly superior to the Bulldog defense. I think Boise would have felt the losses they had at numerous skill positions much more acutely had they played us, enough to send them back to Idaho with a loss. Pure BS though...who the hell knows what would've happened?

I'm not sure that's accurate. There was a very real possibility of seeing Boise in the championship game before...thank Zeus...Nevada beat them.

And they also b!^@h and moan about not being able to wear blue jerseys on their blue field. That's bush league stuff.

Yes it is all hypothetical, but I could just as easily counter by saying Boise's Front seven could have ran completely roughshod over NU's vaunted Oline after. Because that would be my argument in justifying UGA vs the Blackshirts, and the Boise DLine>>>>>than the Mocs.

And the only losses Boise had on offense were the two WRs Pettis and Titus Young. And Moore repsonded pretty decently, completing passes to NINE different receivers. Efaw will be a stud for Boise this year.

Why should they not be able to wear all blue at home? That ruling was a farse by the Mountain West.

This is kind of my point on Boise State. If they want to be taken seriously as a program, get rid of the gimmick field. I don't really buy that the blue jerseys were a huge advantage considering that plenty of football teams play on green fields with green jerseys, but the truth is that it is jarring. It would be like a baseball team having a bright pink baseball mound. Certain batters are going lose focus as a result, and for the home team, that wouldn't be an issue because those players would be acclimated to the oddity. You are accustomed to the game being played in a certain environment, and for some people, having that environment altered can have a detrimental effect on their game. I think Boise benefits unduly from that, and thus I fully agreed with the moratorium on blue uni's.

But yeah, I was wrong on their skill position players. I thought they lost a pretty good RB too, but they only had the two WR's drafted.
