If you ever want to change your name to Bo Pelini let me know because you and him act very similar. Whenever you are challenged, pushed in a corner or called out you resort to cursing and bullying to avoid the real issue and the hard truth.

I'm sending you this because I was waiting for an answer you continued to avoid. I think I have it now.

Obviously i stated I wouldn't ban him but I didn't have a choice. Literally the first time in years.

I decide to post all of this because I didn't want any of you to fill in the blanks of what might have happened. it's only human nature, nothing wrong with that.

Please do not post this anywhere else. I trust all of you with this. I want the focus back on the Huskers.

Did RotoRiot, Chaddyboxer and Dr. Mantis get a vacation? Guys are noticing that their profiles can't be looked at. Shows "BANNED" when I look at their profiles.

 
Yeah, I had assumed there was way, way more than what they were sharing among each other. Never doubted that for a second. Although even in this document Roto posted, the only person that comes off as an a$$ in any way is SW.

I'll just say this here -- Wild Kratts is a great show. I grew up on Kratt's Creatures.

It's occurring to me lately that maybe they didn't actually go off to Africa and Australia, etc, for each episode, and instead used a clever mix of stock footage and zoo animals. Hm....there's some childhood magic being ruined right now.

I just want to emphasize a couple of points:

1. What RotoRiot released was a highly truncated, and very slanted, version of the full PM string between Eric and "the three". Eric bent over backwards to be civil. Ultimately, what it amounts to is Eric politely asked them to modify they behavior. Instead, they either acted like asses or wanted to argue.

2. So long as this stays in the Woodshed, IGNORE it. Outside the 'Shed, no one cares.

I hate to come off like this, but in my opinion (and given the complete information) the bans are probably not over. I suspect Marf and one or two more will have to go.

Both Eric and I hate this. I know that we've been through this at least twice over the last 10-12 years. But what I also know is that once it is over, the Board will settle down and actually be a better place. The ones being banned - or most of them - have formed a kind of juvenile clique. It was getting out of hand. But if you guys bear with us, it will eventually end. Thanks, and sorry everyone is having to go through this.

 
Being the new guy, is it fair to ask what is being looked at as far as who is being ousted? I think it's pretty obvious with Polo and ShawnWatson but what is the criteria for the rest? All of them have definitely had their own times across the line and I'm not saying they aren't justified. Just wondering what we can help watch out for going forward to try to head off people having to leave in the future.

 
Mav, it'd take a book to give all the details, but hopefully I can summarize it...

As everyone will recall (there's even a thread in here about it), the issue came up about NUpolo8, ShawnWatson and Abdullah the Butcher using the term "butt-hurt". Now, the term alone wasn't an issue; it's the fact that they were using it as a kind of personal attack - and doing it outside the Woodshed - toward anyone that disagreed with them. Eric, through a PM, asked them to stop. Seems like a simple, reasonable request, but instead of just saying, "Sure, no problem", all three of them either started attacking Eric (ShawnWatson in particular), arguing, or engaging in juvenile protests.

RotoRiot is Abdullah's cousin. He, Chaddyboxer, tschu (sic), Marf, etc. have been using the PM system to foment a kind of rebellion. It was pretty obvious, taking it as a whole, that nothing was going to placate them and that they wanted to cause trouble. They were spewing out some pretty nasty stuff, including threats. Put another way, they had formed a clique for causing trouble. Hence, the bans.

There's a lot more detail, but as I said, it'd take a book. We don't want to put the Mods in this, so the best thing to do is to email, PM or post here if you see something that you think we should know. I can't really give you any specific things to look for because most of this happened behind the scenes in the PM system and I expect it will stay that way, and at this point, I think things may start to die down a bit. I know members are curious. We may or may not post something. There are pluses and minuses either way we go.

Don't feel that you have to respond to posts on the board about what happened, or that you have to be on the lookout for anything. Right now, they are blaming Eric. By keeping the focus on Eric (and it may eventually include me, as well), our hope is that when we come through this there won't be any bad blood toward the Mods.

 
I think as far as the others that are stirring up trouble go (Chaddy, Roto), they want to be banned so they can push the agenda that were just wiping out those who disagree, personally don't like, or protecting other members (Landlord). I'd say let them push their agenda in the Shed but not elsewhere. Don't martyr them.

Also we may need to start taking a look at opening up a dialogue as far as us mods answering questions in the Shed about what goes into discipline here at HB. I'm seeing a lot of talk about how people have warning levels higher than those who just got wiped out. I think Lance has done a great job of doing this.

Finally, I know I'm not a lead guy around here but let's not get caught up in people criticizing us. Obviously we know the other half of the story that those who know Polo, Butcher, and SW probably aren't getting. Stick by our guns because we really don't have anything to apologize for.

 
Anyone know who Ben Kallenbach and Michael Ciaccio are? They are posting some stupid stuff on our facebook page and I'm about to delete their posts and ban them from our facebook account.

I agree and people need to realize that someone can go from no warnings to being banned depending on the violation.
